Terna Iwar is a Nigerian photographer and filmmaker with a keen interest in identity and form. Born in Jos, Plateau State, his youth was characterised by frequent moves across Nigeria. From Benue to Anambra, then Lagos and Abuja, his exposure to Tiv dance narratives, as well as a broad swaths of the Nigerian populace, has instilled within him a deep appreciation for the transient nature of form and thought.

While initially focusing on fashion and fine art photography, his current body of work encompasses documentary and portraiture. He has garnered experience working for both the private and public sectors, with some notable projects including collaborations with NPR, The Guardian UK, NIF, and The New York Times, among others.
